“Amazing Things” – Leddy Hammock

“Amazing Things” – Leddy Hammock

Inspired by lyrics to “Amazing Things” by Megon McDonough and Jana Stanfield

You will do amazing things with the choice each new day brings,
And with every step you take, bless the progress that you make.

Oh, the places you will go and the people you will know.
Don’t worry when or where or how.  You don’t need to know that now.

You’re on the right track.  No need to look ahead or back.
Just enjoy what this day brings.  You will do amazing things.

Love your life, love your dreams.  You will do amazing things.

The LORD said: “Look over the nations and see, and be utterly amazed!  For a work is being done in your days that you would not have believed, were it told….’ Then the LORD answered me and said:  The vision still has its time, presses on to fulfillment, and will not disappoint …. Wait for it, it will surely come, it will not be late” ….  (Habbukuk 1:5; 2:2-3)

“Do not praise anyone for good looks; or despise anyone because of appearance.  The bee is least among winged creatures, but it reaps the choicest of harvests….  For strange are the deeds of the LORD, hidden from mortals his work.  Many are the oppressed who rise to the throne; some that none would consider wear a crown….  Yet the eye of the LORD looks favorably upon them ….  He lifts up their heads and exalts them to the amazement of the many” (Ben Sira 11:1-13).

“Then shall the righteous one with great assurance confront his oppressors…. Seeing this, the wicked shall be shaken … and will be amazed at the unexpected salvation….  But the righteous live forever, and in the LORD is their recompense ….   Therefore … the LORD …  will shelter them with his right hand, and protect them with his arm…” (Wisdom 5:1-16).
