Educational Program –  2024

Becoming a Unity Student and preparing to be a Unity Prayer Chaplain is an empowering process that manifests as a deepening personal commitment, a beautiful blessing that touches countless lives, and a profound spiritual transformation!

Dear Unity Student,

Are you hearing a spiritual calling?

We welcome you to consider training to become a Prayer Chaplain at Unity Church of Clearwater.  Whether you have served as a Chaplain in any other program, center, or Church before, please pray about this opportunity and then consider fulfilling several important steps unique to the UCC ministry as outlined in this folder.

The role of the Unity Church of Clearwater Prayer Chaplains is to offer prayer treatment and prayer support to the congregation as called upon by the consensus of the Ministry Team of UCC.  As servants of the Christ in the midst of us, our Prayer Chaplains are representatives of this ministry and honored “keepers of the flame” for our UCC Ministry Team and all of our Unity family.

Welcome to Unity!

Three Steps to Becoming a UCC Prayer Chaplain:

STEP ONE – UCC Membership:

  1. Interested candidates for UCC Prayer Chaplaincy would first become members of our Church by filling out and submitting a membership application form to a member of our Ministry Team or to mail or email a request to become a member of UCC.
  2. UCC members who wish to become voting members are invited to attend at least one New Member Meet ‘n Greet (usually planned quarterly after a Sunday service and designed to include a time for sharing and getting to know other UCC members.

STEP TWO – Unity Classes

  1. To prepare for Unity Chaplaincy, interested students are asked to attend at least five sessions each of five core studies classes offered through UCC: Lessons in Truth, Prosperity, and Effectual Prayer, and complete homework, as assigned. Candidates for UCC Prayer Chaplaincy are also asked to attend at least five sessions of a Bible class through UCC plus one other elective class offered through the Church, as approved by a consensus of our Ministry Team.  We recommend that candidates keep private class records for reference, noting class titles, dates of attendance, and names of instructors.
  2. Candidates are also asked to complete and provide a copy of their completed evaluation opportunities for each chapter of the three self-guided notebooks found on the UCC website:  1) Unity & History, 2) Foundational Teachings, 3) Living the Life.

STEP THREE – Meet, pray, and serve with us!

  1. Candidates are invited to request a personal interview with our Ministry Team at any time for clarity and encouragement in this program.  Candidates may then be assigned personalized studies and/or serving as an instructor or assistant in our Youth Ministry after attending a UCC – YM Prep session.  Another meeting with our Ministry Team would be scheduled for each candidate to review and celebrate completion of the above.
  2. Upon recommendation by a consensus of our Ministry Team, candidates will be scheduled for a formal installation as a UCC Prayer Chaplain during a Sunday morning Church service and may then be invited to be scheduled to serve on our Platform Team, as available, to assist with the presentation of our Sunday services and/or to be present for prayer treatment in person for about 15 minutes, upon request. by those who are drawn to our Sunday services.

We give thanks that, through the study and application of Truth principles, we grow in spiritual understanding  and we also help to grow the ministry at UCC!

(Interested Truth students are always welcome to attend UCC classes for personal enrichment OR in preparation for UCC Prayer Chaplaincy.  All UCC classes are offered on a free will, love offering basis.)
