More Love Leddy Hammock

This is my prayer:
     an understanding heart,
     a heart so full of love that I see good everywhere I look,
     loving God with all my heart and loving others as myself,
     a clear mind, an open heart, living in peace with all.


Responsive Reading for Sunday, February 4

“The LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream . . . .   God said, ‘Ask something of me and I will give it to you.’ Solomon answered: ‘. . . Give your servant, therefore, an understanding heart . . . .’  The LORD was pleased . . . .  So God said to him: ‘Because you have asked for this , , , that you may know what is right . . . .  I give you a heart . . . wise and understanding . . . .  In addition, I give you what you have not asked . . . riches [and honor]’” (I. Kings 3:5-13 [KJV]).
                
This is my prayer: an understanding heart.

“Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God” (Mt. 5:8).

This is my prayer:  a heart so full of love that I see good everywhere I look.

“He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment.  The second is like it:  You shall love your neighbor as yourself.  The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments" (Mt. 22:37-40).

This is my prayer: loving God with all my heart and loving others as myself.

“Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect . . . .  Hold on to what is good; love one another . . . . If possible, on your part, live at peace with all” (Rom. 12:2-20).

This is my prayer: a clear mind and an open heart, living in peace with all.
