reading“The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham while he was in Mesopotamia, before he had settled in Haran, and said to him, ‘Go forth from your land and (from) your kinsfolk to the land that I will show you.’ So he went forth from the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. And from there . . . [God] made him migrate to this land where you now dwell” (Acts 7:2-4).

I am open and receptive to new direction to help me find my way.

“Jacob’s people who migrated to Egypt . . . numbered sixty-six persons in all . . . .   Joseph then said . . . : ‘ . . . . So when Pharaoh summons you and asks what your occupation is, you must answer, ‘We your servants, like our ancestors, have been keepers of livestock from the beginning until now,’ in order that you may stay in the region of Goshen” (Genesis 46:26-34).

Land ‘O Goshen!  I am sent to serve God joyously wherever I go, so I get my kicks on Route 66!

“Thus the word of the LORD came to me: . . . Now, son of man, during the day while they are looking on, prepare your baggage as though for exile, and again while they are looking on, migrate from where you live to another place . . . .’ . . . Tell them: Thus says the Lord GOD: . . . I am a sign for you: as I have done, so shall it be done to them” (Ezekial 12:1-12).

By the grace of God, we have all come to the place where we are.  By divine appointment, we are souls on the move.

“For the LORD, your God, is the God of gods, the LORD of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who has no favorites, accepts no bribes; who executes justice . . . and befriends the alien, feeding and clothing him. So you too must befriend the alien, for you were once aliens yourselves in the land of Egypt . . . .  and now the LORD, your God, has made you as numerous as the stars of the sky” (Deuteronomy 10:17-22).

I stay out of my own way and I grow as I go, traveling light, migrating toward my greater good.  Every time I’ve got to move on, I move on!
