Love the Earth
Leddy Hammock

Native American Chant:

“The Earth is Our Mother, we must take care of Her.

The sacred ground we walk upon with every step we take.”

Good Morning
Leddy Hammock

The sunrise is like fire and gold, spilling out on the water while the land’s still dark and cold.  It’s morning!  I wake up breathing in faith, seeking to find the Christ that I was missing.

I wake up breathing a prayer: “I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses. And the voice I hear . . .” is the voice of Truth.  I believe that the Christ I was missing is here.

I wake up breathing with joy.  Let the tears be wiped away, for I feel that the Christ I was missing is here.

With every new sunrise, I wake up breathing life!  It’s a wonderful morning, and I know the Truth that the Christ I was missing – my teacher and my Friend forever — is always here with me.

Good morning!

Why Go There?
Leddy Hammock

(Scripture references:  Mt. 16:24; 21:1-10; Lk. 19:28-44; Jn. 11:5-43; 11:9-13;12:27).

The road is long to my “Jerusalem,” but I will make it; that’s who I am.

I am a spiritual being, going through a human experience.  Show me the way. Steady on, I'll finish strong on this path.

Everything in the outer may change, but I’ll keep my peace.  Show me the way.  With every mile, I am reminded that God is my strength and I am not alone.

Thank You, God, for hearing me.  Show me the way.  Whether the crowds cheer or jeer, I am not moved, for I am in my right place.

Every breath in me proclaims, “Hallelujah today!  Show me the way!”

Unity of the Spirit
Leddy Hammock

Inspired by lyrics by Jan Garrett

“This is what I know:  We are all connected, the universe reflected in each shining part.

And everywhere I go, I recognize the faces – all of my relations in this One Heart.

And all I need is already looking through these eyes, nearer than my breathing, closer than hands and feet.

We are dreaming together all the gifts of heaven and earth, and so I receive all I can be.

So it is and so be it . . . and now we begin . . . .  Amen!”

Higher Things
Leddy Hammock

(inspired by lyrics by Michael Gott and also by Sue Riley and Richard Mekdeci):

I’ve got to rise a little higher in faith, wisdom, and love.

I let my soul be set free as I rise a little higher, so now I can see.

Like a river flowing ever to a greater sea, I can rise a little higher and let the change carry me.

I let my thoughts be lifted to dwell on higher things. I am lifted by grace to a higher place.

I stopped resisting, opened my arms, and surrendered. Now the blessings arrive every day, since I made room for grace.

Your Own Spirit
Leddy Hammock

from lyrics to “The Part of Me that Is You” by Richard Mekdeci and Sue Riley –

“When the world tells me I’m less than whole, I hear these words, spoken from my soul:

‘A child of Mine does not inherit disease,’ and I remember what my heart already knows.”

“The part of me that is You knows only health and wholeness, the part of me that is You, knows only love and joy.

The part of me that is You, is divine and ageless like a compass pointing to a north that’s true.”

“You are the Source of who I am. I am a child of Light.” “I bless the part of me that is You.”

Time for the Reveal
Leddy Hammock

(Inspired by scripture and lyrics by Melinda Wood Allen):

No matter how long the seeming problem has been around, when the time comes when I am really ready, the answer is revealed.

The demonstration comes first in mind, then in manifestation.

I walk by faith, not by sight.

“I come in humbleness, Your blessings to receive.

I touch just the hem of the garment.

If I open to this one possibility, everything could change in that moment.”  “I have touched the hem of the garment.  I’ve seen a world of grand possibility and nothing is the same since the moment I reached out my hand to love and that love returned to me.”

Spirit-U-ality
Leddy Hammock

Lesson inspired by lyrics from “May You Know God” —

“May you rejoice in the new life within you as you release the old and worn. Open your heart with praise and thanksgiving . . . .

May you awake to a world of beauty, lifted up from times of tears. Aware of the grace that tenderly carries you . . . .

There was a time in your life when you glimpsed something that before was unseen.  Now you can believe it's real.

May you look back on a life sweet with memories, understanding all was right.

May you see God. May you feel God. May you know God.

Let It Be Easy
Karen Drucker

(inspired by lyrics by Karen Drucker):

“Let it be easy. Now that I see the light, I won’t work on, day and night. I vow to take good care of me.

Let it be easy. I don’t need to run a race. I’m choosing ease and grace, enjoying the ride.

Let it be easy. I heard a voice calling to me, ‘Let it be easy.’ I make the choice to trust my voice.

Let it be easy.”

This Place
Leddy Hammock

I am not here by accident. I am here in this place by divine appointment.

Since God is everywhere equally present, whenever I turn my attention to the presence of the Good, I dwell in the House of the Lord.

Wherever I am–either alone or gathered with others in prayer– my heart is in a holy place.

In Genesis, we read that Jacob fell asleep, alone in the wilderness; when he awoke, he declared: “Surely the LORD is in this place and I knew it not” (Genesis 28:16, King James Version).

Wherever I am, wherever I journey, I can always pause and pray. I feel instantly safe and divinely guided as I affirm: “Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place!”
