Unity member, Heidi Bushko Honored!

Tampa Bay Business Journal Honors Local Entrepreneur

Safety Harbor, FL October 18, 2010: In recognition for her ethical business practices and countless contributions to the community, the Tampa Bay Business Journal has selected Heidi Bushko of Bushko Insurance Group as one of the honorees for their 2010 Up & Comers Awards.

Heidi and this elite group of rising professionals will be celebrated for their accomplishments in a grand awards event scheduled for November 4th at the Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel.

A genuine humanitarian, Heidi is a steadfast supporter of local and industry causes. She is the recipient of the Florida Association of Health Underwriters Special Service Award for being ‘an individual member that excels above and beyond the call of duty on a local chapter level’ and was also recognized by the FAHU with the Technology of the Year Award.

As the President of the Tampa Association of Health Underwriters (TBAHU), Heidi turned that group into a membership powerhouse by transforming it into the second largest chapter in the state. As an avid lobbyist for affordable and accessible health care and health insurance reform, Heidi has consistently connected with representatives on both local and state levels in the interests of effective legislation.

Heidi is a founding member of the Tampa Bay chapter for the Achievement Rewards for College Scientists Foundation, a national volunteer women's organization dedicated to providing graduate and undergraduate students with scholar awards in natural sciences, medicine, and engineering. Further to her networking expertise, Heidi made huge strides in the growth of the St. Petersburg Women in Networking meeting and is active in their fund raising events for charity.

Professionally, Heidi built her independent insurance agency and her reputation with clients and peers with the same conviction she has devoted to her myriad successes.

Bushko Insurance Group is not just a company that sells insurance policies. Heidi has instead created an organization that is a hub for information and guidance. They provide education to individuals and employers about asset protection and health insurance, disability, life insurance and long term care insurance and work to effect change that makes a distinctive difference.
